Santo Domingo also known as Santo Domingo de Guzman is the capital and largest city in the Dominican Republic. The city is located on the coastal plain facing the Caribbean Sea at the mouth of the Ozama River. The city was the first seat of Spanish Colonial rule in the new world. Most of the banks are located at Santo Domingo. The city is also the center of the national government of the Dominican Republic. Santo Domingo is a commercial and cultural center. It is a major and busiest seaport of country, which is of great importance to city's economic development.
