Deccan, formerly known as Air Deccan, is India's first no frills, low cost carrier which was formed in 2003. It was established with a vision to empower every Indian (common man) to fly. It is a business unit of Deccan Aviation. With a fleet of 42 aircraft flying more than 350 flights a day, it operates on 61 destinations but only on domestic routes.
Deccan is known for its commitment to safety which is never compromised under any circumstance. The work culture at Deccan encourages multi-tasking and cutting down costs without compromising on safety. Safety is an inherent part of its work culture and makes it more visible to both employees and customers. It has adopted a 'lean-and-mean' approach to staffing and aims at maintaining a low aircraft-to-employee ratio.
