Indian automobile industry witnessed a growth of 13.04% in scooter segment. Indian scooter segment includes a range of brands such as Bajaj Chetak, Bajaj Bravo, Bajaj Classic, LML, etc. The manufacturers are in the process of launching new models.
Bajaj and TVS are leaders in the scooter segment.
Production
During financial year 2005-06, scooter production showed a growth of 3.29% over the preceding year. At present there are more than 1.02 million scooters manufactured in Indian automobile sector.
