Established in 1981, Maruti Udyog Limited (MUL) is a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation of Japan.
Maruti delivers a variety of passenger vehicles- compact cars to luxury cars. Its product range includes Maruti 800, Omni, Maruti Zen, Estillo, Alto, Wagon R, Gypsy, Esteem, Baleno, Versa, Swift and Grand Vitara XL7. Maruti has also introduced upgraded versions of Wagon R, Zen and Esteem with the motive of becoming R&D hub for Suzuki Motor Corporation. During the financial year 2005-06, Maruti Udyog limited had a turnover of Rs. 147,043 millions with the total expenditure of Rs. 134,323 millions. At present Maruti has a 55% market share, and is planning to invest Rs. 6500crores
