Founded in 1945, M&M’s automotive division is into the manufacturing of utility vehicles and commercial vehicles. M&M’s automotive division, which first undertook importing and assembling of Willys Jeep kits, now
has its own four manufacturing plants. Mahindra group is significantly contributing to economy of India through its trade and financial sectors.
Mahindra Group’s product range varies from commercial vehicles to luxury cars Bolero and Scorpio. It also caters to the Indian Army. M&M’s vehicles are being exported to Africa, Asia and European & Latin American countries. During financial year 2005-06, M&M group witnessed a revenue growth of more than 27.0%, as compared to the last financial year.
With a market share of 47.6%, the company is one of the leaders in utility vehicles segment. The company’s utility vehicles sales figures have reached 114694 units. Automotive division has various plants located in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.

Recruitment and Training
Mahindra & Mahindra aims at hiring professionals, be it engineers or management graduates. It looks for innovative and highly dedicated human resource.
The company recruits Fresh Engineers from reputed engineering institute/universities on the basis of merit, analytical ability, team ability and interpersonal skills. The candidates need to go through an interview with the management of the organization.
MBAs are also recruited from reputed B-schools. They are recruited as management trainees for the period of one year. They are provided with formal training pertaining to their specialization. At the end of the year, they are appraised on the basis of their performance and are confirmed. Also, Mahindra & Mahindra undertakes Summer Training for the management students of B schools, to provide the potential employees an understanding of its work culture.
