BioServices sector comprises of clinical research, contract manufacturing and contract researches. With 11.03% share, it became
third largest sector in biotech industry in 2006. It registered 69.29% growth and revenues of about Rs. 719.5 crore. This sector is mainly export dominated and its overseas revenues were Rs. 684 crore.
In India there are over 70 companies in this sector. Quintiles India, Clinigene International, Pfizer, Lambda Therapeutics Research, Lotus labs are the leading names of this sector. These
companies offer services in clinical trials, site management, data management, bio-equivalence and bio-availability studies, and knowledge process outsourcing for pharma companies.
