On 28th May, Under 'Peaks and Valley's Complications Check' (PVCC) programme, Eli Lilly announced that it has the target of providing
free treatment to about 50,000 high-risk diabetes patients across the country in the next three years. This programme was launched on the occasion of 'Insulin-discovery Week'.
The company would shortlist patients through free medical checkups in 20,000 camps in 50 Indian cities, including the four metros. The camp would function in collaboration with private
physicians and hospitals. At the PVCC programme, physicians would provide additional care in the form of comprehensive check-up packages that will include a test for eye and kidney problems and foot examination along with the usual blood glucose test.
