From the stem cells taken from child's umbilical chord, scientists from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston have
successfully created insulin in lab. It is a medical breakthrough, a promise to cure Type 1 diabetes, which is a chronic lifelong disease that occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin to properly control blood sugar levels.
