On 20th April, first successful living donor liver transplant was carried out at Narayana Hrudayalaya in Bangalore. It was a 17-hour split liver transplant surgery wherein a large chunk of the liver of the spouse (65% of the right lobe of liver) was transplanted into the husband suffering from cirrhosis of liver.
