By its sheer size the entertainment and media industry can be regarded as the biggest

industry in the world. It is one of the largest sectors by the volume of revenue it generates every year. Since the demand for entertainment will never go down the industry can also be regarded as one of the most stable sectors in the economy.

 

The media industry involves thousands of men and women at various levels. There are big stars, renowned directors, talented scriptwriters as well as graduates, engineers and MBAs, who keep the cogs of this great industry moving. The media industry is such that it involves people from every walk of life. These people constitute the backbone of the industry and often work as teams.

 

In the media industry both human labor and technology are coexisting without trying to push each other out. Moreover, media industry is talent intense and is considered as the best place for creative professionals.

 

In India the media and entertainment sector has grown to become a billion dollar industry. In the current year the E&M industry is expected to grow by 13% and to become a US$ 16.2 billion industry. The film industry of Mumbai or the Bollywood, as it is often referred as,

is the largest film industry in the world. It is currently a US$ 1.9 billion industry and is expected to achieve a CAGR of 9.6% in 2014. Hence, the entertainment sector of India can be looked upon as one of the major creators of employment in the country. Career in movie making

The movie making industry can be divided into two parts- one is the talent (and labor) intense part of making films and the other is the technology inspired graphic designing and animation section. In modern cinema both are going hand-in-hand in creating the final product.

Careers in television

The television sector has shown immense potential in becoming a thriving industry. The penetration of the television media in India has grown manifold over the years and currently there are over 626 TV channels catering to the huge Indian viewer base. Most of the career options listed in movie making also exist in the television sector but the sector offers more competitive environment and hence, can more stressful. Careers in radio

Careers in music industry

The music industry is another booming industry and it seems that television simply can’t have enough of talent hunt shows to find new singers.
