Wyeth Ltd. was founded on 20th September 1947 as Lederle Laboratories (India) Ltd. as a private limited company. Later, on 31st October 1962, its name was changed to Cyanamid India Limited. In November 1965, it became a private enterprise. With the merger of Geoffrey Manners & Co. Ltd., (GM) with the company on 1st April 2003, the company's name was changed to Wyeth Limited, and healthcare products became part of the company's product portfolio. The company has achieved market leadership in the Folic acid, Oral contraceptives and Depilatory cream segment.
