MTNL's Work Culture
MTNL provides subsidized canteen, creches, housing schemes, and medical facilities of its

employees, scholarships to wards of employees, group insurance, and dormitories for females working in night shift, etc. It also organizes sports and cultural activities. MTNL is continuously working towards making Hindi the official language as per government policy. Also, voluntary retirement scheme (VRS) has been introduced to right size the organization.

Recruitment and Training
The company is looking for engineers and professionals in areas like Telecom, Finance, HR, Marketing, and Law. The employees are provided with formal training and development programs. These programs pertain to overall growth of individuals. Centre for Excellence in Telecom

Technology and Management (CETTM) is MTNL's training centre.

More than 7923 employees were trained during financial year 2005-06. The training programs offered valuable knowledge in various disciplines and areas, such as customer care, behavioral & attitudinal training, technical/information technology. Besides, 9 officials were sent abroad for Specialized Training / Management Course.

MTNL also provides training to students. During financial year 2005-06, about 300 Engineering/MBA students did their industrial training in the company.
