HIMACHAL PRADESH PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION
The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission came in to existence in 1971 with attainment of statehood to Himachal Pradesh. The commission is an independent constitutional authority to advise the State Government on matters of Recruitment, Promotion, appointments, transfer, and disciplinary matters affecting Civil Servants. The commission conducts recruitment of Class-I & Class-II posts of different departments.
The commission conducts recruitment programs through examination followed by viva-voce for positions such as Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services Etc. Examination (HPAS), Himachal Pradesh Judicial Services (HPJS), State Forest Services (HPFS) and Forest Rangers. It also recruits through examination without viva-voce for positions such as State Accounts Services (O.B.) – S.A.S.-OB and State Accounts Services (L.A.D.) – S.A.S.-L.A.D.
