The Brihan Mumbai Electric Supply & Transport Undertaking, popularly known as BEST is responsible for the overall control and administration of electricity supply and transportation in Mumbai. BEST operates 3380 buses to carry about 45 lakh passengers on 335 routes on daily basis. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation
The entire administration of Mumbai is taken care of by the Municipal Corporation known as BMC or Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. The primary responsibility of this department is to provide infrastructural facilities to the residents of the city. This government department is led by the Mayor.
