Tata Consultancy services has all set to hire 43,600 engineers in the year 2012-13, this is more than the recruitment done this year i.e. 37,800. The target will also include engineering students from foreign campuses as well.

As we all know that IT budgets are under pressure, hence it shows the spending patterns of TCS's clients. In 2011-12, TCS will end up hiring around 66,000 employees. Till the last 3 quarters, it added 51,000 employees (this includes both lateral and campus hires), and is expected to hire 15000 during January-March quarter.

TCS has changed its strategy for applying to visas to US. Previously it depended on L-1 visas and now the applications are sent through H1-B visas. This year it applied for 4500 H1-B visas. The main reason for this was, increased rejection of L1 visas.

Company is also hiring locally in US for its Cincinnati, Dallas, Milford and Phoenix centres.
