Partition of Korea |
|
|
Korea is a geographical area and this former state is situated in the Korean peninsula in East Asia and presently Korea is divided into North Korea and South Korea.
The history of Korea started off with the founding of the Gojosen (an ancient Korean kingdom in 2333 B.C) by Dangun Wanggeon. However, it is to be noted that it is the Three Kingdoms of Korea that encouraged the Chinese system of writing and this took place in the 2nd century B.C and it also promoted Buddhism in the 4th century AD.
In the year 676, the Three Kingdoms got integrated into one by the Silla and after this integration Korea was governed by a single government and this government paid heed or

laid stress on the cultural as well as political independence and all these happenings took place in the 19th century. Korea faced invasions from the Mongol of the Goryeo dynasty in the 13th century and in the 16th century it faced Japanese invasions of the Joseon Dynasty. By the 19th century Korea became the object of frequent attacks by Europe and Japan. However, in the year 1990 Korea was seized by Japan and it remained under the Japanese occupation till the end of World War II that is till the year 1945. In the 1945, itself the troops of the United States and Soviet Union established their hold over northern and southern half of Korea.
In the 1870’s Japan compelled Korea to move away from the influence of China and to become an associate state of Japan and also forced Korea to get indulged with the foreign trade through the 1876 Treaty of Ganghwa. Japan then encouraged the assassination of the Korean Empress, Myeongsang and in the year 1910 Japan exercised its force on Korea in order to get the Japan- Korea Annexation Treaty signed by Korea.
Korea resisted to Japanese occupation by organizing the March 1st Movement, which took place in the year 1999 and this movement had a great impact on Siberia.
However with the defeat of Japan in the year 1945, the United Nations immediately developed new plans related to trusteeship administration that is, it was decided that from then onwards or from that moment itself Soviet Union would be in charge of the administration of the peninsula North and the United States would handle or look into the administration works of the South. Thus it could be said that the politics of the Cold War led to the establishment of the South Korea and North Korea in the year 1948 or it could be said that in the year 1948 occurred the Partition of Korea.
History also tell us that the United States and the Soviet Union succeeded in wining the confidence of the government by making the government believe in their mission and it resulted in the emergence of two politic entities that is the North Korea and South Korea.
