AEGON Religare is the name of the joint venture between international financial services provider AEGON and Religare, an Indian company. AEGON joined hands with Religare to enter the Indian insurance market in 2006. The company launched its joint venture by the name of AEGON Religare to comply with the FDI policy of the Indian government which requires foreign insurance companies to collaborate with an Indian financial company to enter Indian market.
AEGON, Religare and Bennett, Coleman and Company (BCC) together launched AEGON Religare Life Insurance Company Limited or ARLI, which launched its pan India operation of life insurance in 2008.
